Last Minute Advice to you all!!!!

Do not panic!  You know everything that you need to know.  Read through and revise terminology and theory tonight.

Understand that the word 'sexuality' includes the way that someone see themselves aswell as the way that others see them.  i.e gay, straight, bisexual.  How are they being represented, use of stereotypes etc. Laura Mulvey's teory could be used here, for intance, is the camera focussing  'the gaze' on a man, in the way that it would usually show a woman.  Is the man being sexualised etc?

Try to use theory in all answers but if you are really stuck, you can still get a level four as long as your answer contains analysis of all four technical codes - cinematography, editing, sound and mise en scene.  AND you include detailed analysis, usig a range of examples.

Spell words correctly -  such as diegetic.  use the accent when writing mise en scene.   (over the first e in scene, pointing to the left)

Leave yourself enough time to cover a range of examples throughout the extract.  Try to sum up the overall 'macro' represetnation in the exract.  'The bigger piture'  what is the clip saying/suggesting about Gay men, women, black people, Italian people etc.

Most clips will offer non fluid representations.  i.e just like Abbie in Primeval, their representation changes through out the clip and is not static.

All powerpoints are on Fronter.

GOOD LUCK x
